Paternova 0.9.7 - Better Web Version, Easier API Access

A new version of Paternova is available to download for Windows OS and access in your browser. This update includes an overhaul to the web version to raise its stability and addition of a persistent API key manager that will remember and apply the API keys automatically.

Here is a longer list of the changes in Paternova 0.9.7:

Improvements:
1. Monitor manager UI is improved.
2. Several UI and performance improvements, especially for Paternova Lite (on web).

Changes:
1. Added a text plan to generate current date/time.
2. Added an image plan to generate maps using Google Maps API.
3. An API Key manager is added. This would allow user-defined API keys to be automatically applied without having to be typed in each time.
4. Projects are auto-saved when they are small enough (less than 500 arrays). This would be especially useful when the web version crashes abruptly or web browser is restored.
5. Paternova Lite (on web) has access to a persistent storage at "/Paternova" provided by the browser.
6. In preparation for new OpenAI models, an experimental plan to expand the currently-available OpenAI chat plan is added. The new plan will likely replace the current plan and enables inclusion of multiple message inputs and assistant messages (previous AI responses).

Note: In this release, the Windows version is not signed.

Release of Paternova 0.9.6

A new version of Paternova is available to download for Windows OS.

The major improvements in version 0.9.6 include:

1. New functions to implement TextRequest API to allow posting texts and images over cellular network,

2. Drag and drop support into spreadsheet for texts, images, text and image files, and project (binary) files,

3. New log window,

4. Optimized cell refresh ordering,

5. Two new conditional plans specialized for matrices and images.

6. UI improvements,

7. And several stability improvements.

Paternova Online!

We are proud to announce that Paternova is now available, completely free, online.

Thanks to WebAssembly, a majority of functions in Paternova are shipped with Paternova online. Some functions that rely on larger modules are, however, included only in the desktop version.

Please note that the web application is sand-boxed in the user’s browser. This imposes a number of limitations:

• There are limitations on memory and processing power available to Paternova online.

• Editing some elements, like spreadsheet cells, may require double-click or an extra tap.

• File access in Paternova online is managed by the browser.

Paternova online is based on a newer version of Paternova, version 0.9.6. This version will be available soon on Windows.

Release of Paternova 0.9.5

A new version of Paternova is available to download. Go to download page to download an installer for windows.

The focus of this version has been the ease of on-boarding and overall user experience. For the first time, Paternova is being shipped with a windows installer.

There are many other improvements and bug fixes in this version as well. For instance, alongside the overall UI improvements, the dark-mode theme is now available. Make sure to upgrade to this version as soon as you can!
